Our Scholars

The support we give our scholars throughout their four years of boarding school is the crux of our commitment to our young people. Our scholars are visited twice a year by Wight Foundation staff member to ensure students are taking full advantage of their opportunity.

When scholars are home, the Wight Foundation hosts several events throughout the year to encourage networking, personal development, and fun—such as workshops, trips, dinners, retreats, and more.

The Wight Foundation’s goal is to adequately prepare our students so they may make the most informed decisions during their college admissions process. We provide our students with guidance on course selection, internship and volunteer opportunities, summer program advising, an annual three-day college tour, and intensive one-on-one college advising.

Through the Wight Foundation, our scholars receive unique opportunities to travel internationally, enroll in summer programs, attend conferences, and gain college credits. Scholars may receive Funding for Academic Enrichment Opportunities (FAEO) grant to compliment their boarding school experience.

Boarding schools are amazing options, and are also very affordable. On average, our students receive over $3.3 million in financial aid from their boarding schools per year. In addition, the Wight Foundation provides, for families that qualify, up to:

  • Tuition Grants

  • School Fees

  • Book and Spending Allowance
