Margaret Hickman - Carleton College '20

I am currently enrolled in political and cultural history that is an intensive course that looks at the history of the Czech Republic and Slovakia during the world wars and communism. I’m also taking the Czech language which helps me navigate the city and order food as well as other practical things. A professor from Carleton teaches the cross-cultural psychopathology class where we are learning about culture-bound syndromes and where mental illnesses have universal manifestations or if culture impacts all disorders. This class includes visits to clinics and psych wards in Poland and Slovakia.
